Transportation

Gautrain is a railway system linking Johannesburg, Pretoria, and Tambo International Airport.

From the Airport: The O.R. Tambo International Airport is about a 25 km to 32km drive from the hotels.

Travellers may take the train (called Gautrain) for which you need to purchase a pre-paid GAUTRAIN GOLD CARD at the airport. Gautrain serves other destinations; information can be found here.

Please ensure you have contacted your place of accommodation to confirm where the nearest Gautrain station is and whether you are able to walk or connect on the Gautrain bus to your destination. The Gautrain can take visitors to Rosebank or, for those staying in the city centre, to Park Station. The Gautrain has a comprehensive schedule available on Gautrain Timetable.

For travelers arriving very early or very late: Most hotels operate their own shuttle bus services to and from the airport. The cost is R560 ($45) one way per person.

Alternatively, the Uber app is fully functional across South Africa and Uber cabs are another means of getting around conveniently, safely, and affordably.

Other minibus services are available and can be booked at kiosks close to the airport entrance. Metered taxis, recognizable by the yellow “taxi” lights on the car roofs, are also available at the airport, although more expensive.

In the City: There will be a daily shuttle between the main conference hotels and the conference venue, leaving in the morning and returning in the evening.

There will also be one shuttle operating in round trips throughout the day from the conference venue to the three main hotels (Parktonian, Garden Court Milpark and Rosebank Crowne Plaza) from the conference venue. This shuttle will operate at intervals of approximately 45 minutes and will only go between the conference venue and the hotels.

Should you require transport to any other destination, please book via your uber app or call Noli’s Taxis +27 73 258 4691 or +27 84 034 0097. Kindly note that the latter options are for your own account and need to be booked directly.

Taxis: The best priced, most reliable, and safest means of transport in Johannesburg is Uber. If you already have the Uber app and your credit card details loaded on it, you will be able to use it in Johannesburg. If not, we suggest you download it from the Apple Store or from Google Play.

Alternatively, a metered cab can be ordered at Zebra Cabs 086 110 5105.
*Please note this service is for your own account and cash is the best method for payment
