GIJC17 Voices is a series of short interviews with some of the top investigative journalists from around the world.
David Cay Johnston is editor-in-chief of DCReport.org, former IRE Board President, and American investigative journalist for more than 50 years. He’s a best-selling author, specialist in economics, regulatory and tax issues, and winner of a 2001 Pulitzer Prize while with The New York Times.
He is the author of The Making of Donald Trump, now in 10 languages, and forthcoming It’s Even Worse Than You Think (a second Trump biography, out in January 2018).
Johnston is the founder of DCReport.org, which covers what Trump administration and Congress do, not what they say. He is the only U.S. journalist whose exposes of news manipulations forced a broadcast chain off the air.
He’s been teaching legal theory and history at Syracuse University College of Law since 2009. He’s written for Al Jazeera America, Daily Beast, Reuters, San Jose Mercury, Detroit Free Press, Los Angeles Times, Philadelphia Inquirer and The New York Times.
